Happy Birthday Kate | Veteran's Memorial Park, Pensacola

To make Kate’s summer birthday family/cake smash photoshoot a little more bearable, mama chose to get up early for a sunrise shoot at Veteran’s Memorial Park in Pensacola, FL. Sunrise is my absolute favorite time of day. The light is just glorious. And in the middle of a Florida summer, sunrise means we aren’t all drenched in sweat before the session starts.

And who can be mad about an excuse to eat cake for breakfast?

Kate did so well getting up so early. She was fresh and ready to play and snuggle. I think most kids are happier and more amenable in the morning, even if we think it will be a challenge to get them up that early. Let them sleep until the last minute and you can get all ready yourself without interruptions. When they are little like this, all you really have to do is pull them out of bed and put them in the car seat. Get them dressed on location and let the calm of the morning and the lingering sleepiness work in your favor.
